Dear EECS Members,
I hope everyone is enjoying the break from school and would like to reassure everyone that the club is progressing well. We have finally been assigned a permanent room and we plan to address all members of the club about the rule of the new club room as well as the training that is required to enter the room in the next upcoming general members meeting. The date of the said meeting has not been decided yet. The meet is being arranged in order for all members to be aware of the direction of the club in regarding the projects, the club room space, the equipment, etc. Anyone wondering on how the current projects will precede is asked to come to the general meet.
Now I am going to talk briefly about the training I mentioned above; the new club room is in the basement of the Bergeron Building within the mechanical workshop. To enter the mechanical workshop you must have WHIMS II training as well as additional training from Lassonde. The WHMIS II training is available online here:

And again, anyone wanting to enter the club room they must finish this training. If anyone has completed the WHMIS II training at York, through ENG2001 as an example then you should be okay. Anyone who has completed WHMIS II or more outside of York and does not want to go through the training must provide me with all related documentation so I may present it to the faculty. Now for the Lassonde based training as well as for faculty rules; I will need everyone to email me, at [email protected], their full name and student number. If you fail to do so then I cannot let you enter the club room with the possible exception of providing the information at the meeting, however I cannot grantee that you will be permitted to enter. More about the training will be discussed in the general members meeting.

Osman Ahmed Ibrahim
