This message is to announce the official establishment of the Electrical Engineering Club for Students or EECS for short. Currently, the club President and Vice President, Osman Ibrahim and Kuanghua Qiao(Owen), respectively. We are also looking for members to fill the following positions in the EECS Executive Council: Secretary, Treasurer, Librarian, Privy Councillor, Public Relations Officer, Webmaster, Foreign Relations Manager and Event Coordinator. These positions will appointed as interim position and will valid for only 6 weeks starting after being appointment expect for Privy Councillor. After the 6 week period any member may challenge the President, Vice President, Public Relations Officer or Event Coordinator for their position, in which an election will be held. Otherwise, all interim positions will be kept the same for the remainder of the year.
The descriptions of the available positions are stated in Article 6 of the constitution which is available on the about page. Members may apply to no more than two positions on the Council. There are two Privy Councillor positions available. Privy Councillor may not apply for Public Relations Officer or Event Coordinator. Privy Councillor must be a student in their fourth year at York. All members applying for an Executive position are encouraged to read the club constitution. Interviews for positions will begin Sunday, August 2nd.
